API uptime monitoring for the endpoints your systems rely on

UptimeSure can monitor a public HTTP API endpoint with the same hardened request engine used for website checks. The focus is availability and response correctness, not synthetic business transactions or private credential replay.

An API monitor is an HTTP/HTTPS check pointed at a specific endpoint. V1 supports response status validation, an optional response keyword, timeout enforcement and response-time capture.

The monitor fails when the endpoint cannot be reached safely, times out, returns an unexpected status, or omits a configured keyword. Confirmation thresholds prevent a single transient error from becoming a confirmed incident when you choose a threshold above one.

Each result is recorded. Confirmed DOWN transitions open an incident; a successful recovery closes it and can send recovery alerts.

What UptimeSure checks

  • Endpoint reachability
  • Allowed HTTP status codes
  • Optional body keyword
  • Wall-clock timeout
  • Response latency

Common use cases

  • Public REST health endpoints
  • Webhook receiver availability
  • Authentication service health URLs
  • Read-only API readiness endpoints

Configuration

  • Endpoint URL
  • Interval
  • Timeout
  • Expected status codes
  • Optional response keyword
  • Confirmation threshold

Alerts and recovery

Use webhook delivery for machine-to-machine automation or Email, Telegram, Slack and Discord for operator notifications.

Example

Example: check https://api.example.com/health every minute, require HTTP 200 and the word “ready”, then notify a webhook after two consecutive failures.

Frequently asked questions

Does V1 run authenticated API workflows?

No. V1 monitors endpoint availability and response conditions; it is not a multi-step transaction runner.

Can I monitor a private RFC1918 address?

Private and reserved targets are blocked by default for SSRF safety. A deployment operator can deliberately change that policy for a trusted private deployment.

Are response bodies stored?

The monitor checks bounded response content for an optional keyword; the product does not present response-body archiving as a V1 feature.
